The weekly update has been released!
This week it's time (finally) for more Jackie! Who's Jackie, you ask? Yeah, the poor girl's been sadly neglected... but no more! Head over to Samantha's apartment (the one that used to be on fire) for cosplay fun and games! Also, I reworked the way the game deals with sounds so hopefully that'll solve some of the issues that have been cropping up. ALSO also, CK has been upgraded to the latest Ren'py version which should make things a lot more stable for Android users! I hope you enjoy! :)
CHANGELOG:
- Version Upgrade: Updated to the latest Ren'py version, which will hopefully solve the crashing issues some Android users have been experiencing
- Jackie: You can now visit Jackie in Samatha's building whenever you like!
- Jackie: Cosplay Fashion! You can now get Jackie to pose in the "Zero Suit" outfit!
- Jackie: Cosplay Fashion! You can now get Jackie to pose in the "Bowsette" outfit!
- Jackie: New naughty event - pick her cosplay outfit! (Zero Suit and Bowsette currently available. More to come!)
- College: Madison and Veronica will now be wearing the correct uniform when you get the "no more education decreases" event
- Coding: Updated the code used for sound effects, adding an "ambient" layer and separating the system and in-game sounds. This should allow for more sound layering, as well as greater stability
- Bug: Talking to Chloe before Jessica right after the Act One finale would skip time, preventing you from talking to Jessica until the following day. Now you can't talk to Chloe until you've spoken to Jessica. Sorry, Chloe!
- Bug: Ambient sounds weren't looping, and sound effects were sometimes getting cut off. All working now! I hope
- Bug: A voice in the darkness... a hand reaching through the void... a soft, strangely familiar voice that whispers... Rise... Typo Hero!

Found a bug where the "unlock" sound constantly repeats after you unlock chole's witch outfit until you switch to the festival scene

When I went to visit Jackie, I had remembered that I hadn't found Samatha's key yet. Is it possible to find said key yet or will that be coming in a future update? Oh another thing that I remember seeing was about being able to go on a date with the Receptionist though I am not sure if or how to trigger that event to happen.
Arc tends to do that, not tell you if something isn't in the game yet.
But plotwise, the reason you even interact with Jackie in the first place is to get Samantha's key.
You can't do that yet.

Ah ok, that is good to hear that I wasn't missing anything in regards to the key. And as for the receptionist, I had meant the one at Sally's Company.
Oh, then no, you can't date her.
Just a scene if you talk to her.
People normally ask about "dating the receptionist" referring to the one in the cafe from the main story.

Just click "download now" on the main page, or grab the Itch app (if you're on Windows, Mac or Linux) and download the patch file each week :)
how can i upgrade the game version without having to uninstall and install again or sth

that's why I stopped playing the game initially aswell, I don't think there is a way... but I suppose hypothetically you could transfer the save files from the game into a new folder and put it into the newly downloaded versions save files..? I personally haven't found an easy way (yet) to do that and I don't know if it would work... but hey! It's better than nothing
You don't need to manually transfer saves - the game does that for you :) Please do not uninstall the Android version of CK! You can just install the new APK on top of the old version, no problem.
There is no real way to update the game without installing the game again.
One thing I'd say you're doing wrong is uninstalling before installing again.
That makes you lose your saves, you're supposed to install the new APK as an update.
The update might fail, often because you don't have enough space.
But check the appstore and get Split APK Installer to install the game, if it fails at least it will actually tell you why.
If you use a file manager you just have to grab the old saves, uninstall the game,install the new version then put the files in the new version
You can do that with all vn you install here or everywhere because the thing you said only work on some vn
Yeah, I know.
But for most people just updating the game works.
Only time it didn't work was when Arc lost his dev keys and the thing was complaining the signature wasn't the same.
With this game normally it works and the only errors while installing tend to be not enough space.
Some seem to be fixed by installing with SAI for some reason, I recommend it because at least it will tell you a proper error message instead of just saying "No, can't install"
But yeah, ideally people would backup their saves.
It's just a bit more involved, and not every file manager works (at least back then when android 11 and the restriction were new)

Yeah ideally but the one I use (its basically the Samsung basic one) does work and I have like a file with the save of like 12 vn on it

What is the trick to improving the schools education level, i cant figure it out. It either says no change or improves a little
Dont Try to use powers, it makes no change happen, also if you can try buying upgrades for the building that improve learning to make it go faster

Yes, you may be.
The burning building is part of Roxy's storyline, at some point during that story you have to find something or someone in the building and then you can make the burning building become the no-longer-burning building.

If i remember you need a certain power as well
You'll also need to progress through Lyx's storyline to get the power to be string enough to find the mystery thing, and I think the stage you need to get to in that storyline for that requires reaching a certain point in Asterias storyline to reach a certain stat level. Wow it sounds convoluted when I lay it out..
Just want to confirm. Do I keep my save file after this update. Another game updated their Ren'py and the save file no longer usable.
Saves should still work, some of my very old ones still do.
Code is the same, and the engine didn't change that much to break saves.
(Only problem would be if Arc rolled back a version of the engine)What Cursed said :) I work hard to keep the savefiles compatible between each version, and the SDK update was thoroughly tested beforehand to make sure there would be no issues with save loading.

Yes, you will be able to have naughty fun with a "normal clothes" Jackie(?) :) More interactions with her "shy" side coming too, as well as more costumes - which I'll probably have people vote on :)

Jokes aside, not even Arc is certain, there's plenty of side stuff in act 2 that needs to be done before we can transition into act 3.
Also no such thing as "big update" around these parts, all updates are weekly and have about the same amounts of content (on average) the only difference being what type of content those updates have.

The next Act (Act Three) is... well, shit's really going to hit the fan. It's going to close out most, if not all, of the Act Two content and so I really need to be sure that all the side content for Act Two is complete before moving on.
Believe me, I'd love to get on with the main story. I have so many plans! I'm trying to get there as fast as possible, but no timetable I'm afraid.
