The weekly update has been released!
This week it's another conquerable district, with a brand-new Boss Girl and skill, and the return of the "Puppet Nun" who is... somehow even weirder than before. It's probably fine, though, right? Right!? I hope you enjoy! :)
PLEASE READ! IF YOU ARE ON WINDOWS, LINUX OR MAC IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT OVERWRITE THE OLD UPDATE WITH THE NEW ONE! JUST EXTRACT THIS UPDATE TO A BRAND NEW FOLDER AND PLAY! THE GAME WILL TRANSFER YOUR SAVE FILES FOR YOU!
KNOWN ISSUES: Due to the necessity of changing the User Interface some screens (such as the skill, inventory, fighter and crafting screens) haven't had a UI pass and look kinda janky. All this will be fixed in the next few updates, so please bear with me until then. Thank you!

- War Map: New Conquerable location! "Old Town"! (East of the Manor)
- Boss Girl: New Boss Girl! "Ophelia" is in charge of the Old Town district!
- Skill: New combat skill - IMPALE! Chance to insta-kill your opponent! Learned from Ophelia, the new Boss Girl!
- Puppet Nun: You can now talk to the Puppet Nun (if you rescued her in the finale) - just head to the East Hallway!
- Puppet Nun: Puppet Nun now has a paperdoll!
- Android: New SWIPE GESTURES feature! You can now swipe your phone screen to activate certain functions! (Swipe left to rollback, right to skip, up for game menu and down to hide the UI!) Many thanks to a certain player for the code snippet!
- Misc: More quick menu tweaks in a desperate attempt to get it working properly on Android. Yaaaaay
- Misc: Fixed a little tearing around the sides of the War Room nav icon
- Bug: Some people were missing the Endure and Shatter powers in their skill menu. These have been restored!
- Bug: If enemy HP or WP was reduced to zero by a support character attack, the enemy would keep fighting. They've been told off and will stop cheating from now on
- Bug: Chastity was showing off her new War outfit in Acts One and Two. She has been slapped with a spoiler warning
- Bug: Chloe's dialogue wasn't showing the OUTBREAK notification at one point. Now it is!
- Bug: Gwen & Ami: Kid Detectives enter the dark cage... I mean cave. There at the bank is a hatched fig cure. I mean at the bark is a bunched... at the bunk... what is going on!?

Weekly updates can be rough, but they're very valuable when it comes to player feedback and quickly squashing any bugs that pop up! :)

I may even go as far as to ask, which one of the 5 is your favourite. Mine is Chiyome (quiet, white haired one)
As for them, well I don’t know if Arc will do act 2 content while working on act 3.
But unless the girls are in town somewhere, we may need to wait until we get to the mountains. Hell, if you played recently, even Chastity is waiting for us there.
Chiyome is my fav too my dude 😭 she's just the cutest among all of them..but if we talking about outside the ninjas I'm taking Chastity overall..
Well, the way things are going… I’m fairly certain Chastity could count as a kunoichi in the future.
oh dear, I was worried about this. When I got into catching up on this title, I came across the “combat system” and I’ve ended up deleted the games with this system before because their so difficult. I scraped by with the other districts. But the last on this update costed me 3hrs trying to whittle this Ophelia girl down. Its always attack and impale with her and get lucky with one point lust.
Just as I managed to get her WP to 65, i set the shield and she kills me with a single swing knocking all 60HP.

i won the fight in less than a minute, i just equipped a support that boosts phys randomly (hazel) and skipped with ctrl and increased def when she tried to counter for 30 seconds until my phys and def was high enough, then attacked her, i received 0 damage from her attacks and blocked her impale just in case. i think hazel was from the hillside development. If you ask jessica, she tells you that she's a duelist and is bad at prolonged fights, you just need to outscale her stats
Thats extremely weird, Hazel was my support. I chose her because of her defense. I'll give it another go this morning to see if it was a bug. If it persists, I may lose my attachment to this game. Not sure if its my ADHD or something else, but I lose interests in games with this kind of combat system. I'm usually pretty good strats, but on the down side if the opponent continuiously uses attacks and I have no means to counter makes it extremely difficult to control my rising temper and just turn it off never to touch it again because I cant advance
Got past her using Hazel as frontline. Not sure why the MC on support just sits there. But it worked! Thanks again
Yeah, it caught me offguard too when it was introduced.
Up until the start of act 3, Arc didn’t seem to be one for minigames. But I then learned he’s the type of dev that has to keep moving, trying new things or else he’ll get bored.
Also, in terms of narrative I can’t think of how the process of “taking back the town” would’ve gone without a battle system.
About Ophelia. Right, you know you don’t have to seduce her. You can choose the strategy you want, but some work better than others depending on the enemy.
Tanks will keep defending, so seduction works best against them. Seducers are resistant to seduction so you might want to attack them instead.
Aside from dialogue and some visuals, the only difference between a HP and a WP win are that the girls will need more… sessions to get them on your side. Hell, you can even use shatter, haven’t used it meself but it’s an option.
In the case of Ophelia, I saw a lot of WP for a combat enemy and ditched the seduction strat right away.
My strat for her was to have Hazel as frontline with MC as support.
If she attacks, attack back. If she’s going to counter, use Hazel’s skill to boost PHY. If she’s going to impale, block it.
That was it. Didn’t die or use consumables.
But maybe someday I could convince Arc to add something for the folks allergic to minigames. Emphasis on the maybe.
I'll try Hazel as frontline this go, she was support last night. I started the Ophelia battle at 7pm and she delivered the killing blow at 1040pmish. I was tired and getting cranky. Thanks for the info!
Tried with Hazel as front line in the manner you described. Beat her thankfully. The MC in support roll is rather useless, he doesnt do anything. But I digress, much thanks to you for the help! The corrupted Kingdoms has been one of my top 5 favorite games for years, I dont want to lose it! I still wanna shove a different stick up Morganas rear haha
Well, I didn’t go there planning the most optimal strategy.
MC was on support only because I was having him learn the skills from the girls.
Haven’t really checked which character is best at support.
I normally just use Chloe.
Reading "taking back the town" just made Cleanin' Up the Town from the Ghostbusters soundtrack start going through my head. XD
So. Arc. Buddy. MC needs a proton pack. Maybe not until we start facing off against the fey, rather than the Org, but it has to happen.

Hey I'm playing on android and my menu with the heart, back pack, and such isn't there. Is there an option to turn it off/on that I'm missing or is it a bug? I just completed the training arc with gramps just to give you and idea of how far in to the game I am.
Well, in dialogues sometimes it disappears.
But recently when the UI got tweaked, Arc added an arrow on the top-left corner. That makes the top UI appear or disappear.
If it’s worse than that, I’d recommend reporting it on the discord server. Instant messaging is better for tech support than posts in a forum-like setting.

Hmm... every time Ophelia's does damage from the support role I get "An exception has occurred." I can ignore it and carry on, but she does 0 damage.

This bug was reported already, it will be fixed on 0.18.5 which comes out public next Thursday.

Sometimes - if they find a really gamebreaking bug - the game will get patched when public comes out.
Butt bug reports… no, wait… But bug reports here are also appreciated since people play in different ways, triggering things one may not expect.
Or some people are better at noticing things that normally fly under the radar… Like a character knowing your name before you’ve introduced yourself.

No, course not. One of Arc’s priorities is to make sure save files always work.
Just, check the changelogs to see what new content the latest version brings. There are some places where the “no more content on this version” message will hold true for a while.
I literally just finished version 18.2. Since my last play through was dated on the save screen was april 2021. Wow alot has certainly happened! Well Morgana looks to have been freaked out, poor Ami and Gwen, shame no love scenes for them anymore. I was honestly a little iffy on the combat situation but I made it work.
The game is going quite spendidly! Lots of drama to keep someone entertained! Gonna finish the download on this version and enjoy!

When i pick to download update for android its a zip file
The method Arc uses to upload the game to itch.io sometimes decides to put the apk inside a zip file at random.
Since he doesn’t know what causes it, there’s no way to prevent it.
Get a file manager that can open zip files (Solid Explorer recommended)
Just use the default android file manager, it does just fine
It may. But one of the reasons I recommend Solid Explorer is in the case someone wants to backup (or install someone else’s) savefiles
Since Android 11 - if my memory doesn’t fail me - they added restrictions to the apps private folders.
To get to the savefiles on Android you need to go to:
Some file managers can’t access that folder. Solid Explorer is not the only one, but the one I use.

I'm with a flu! but I did restart the entire game, so I can play it all again! I just love this game so much. Thank you for the update, really.
So, in my second play of the game, I cleared all the girls content, which I hadn't done before. And, let me just tell you, I need more from Johnny Cock, it's my hero. I also just realized that Gwen spies on us when sleeping?? Kind of scared me, but then I just laughed. It's funny when my mc is named Annie, but then I go with Annie. Two Annies, chilling in a barn, five feet apart cause I'm gay.
Haha, I'll be honest, Johnny Cock was created because I honestly can't do serious stuff for too long without needing to be silly - he was a little treat to myself that I fully expected to be a forgettable one-shot... and now there are people on the Discord server asking for Johnny Cock spin-off games. I couldn't be more proud of the little feathered guy ;)
And yes, if you don't "play" with Gwen enough she gets a little... fixated... :P

I mean, thus far there’s a pattern where the girl’s names have the same initials as the district name.
If that logic still holds, then we might have to wait until we get to Trinity Gates Hotel. Although… that district is claimed by the Eldritch. And the twins were on Organisation turf.
Maybe she’ll appear in a story event, not involved with conquering districts.
Also yeah, Ophelia was a bit of a struggle for me too. Ditched seduction as soon as I saw all that WP. Managed to get her with Hazel as main.
And to think the fights are going to keep getting harder…
I Managed to Seduce her But Needed to Rely on Noelle Support Attacks,it TOOK 45 TURNS TO BEAT HER ,And i Don't think that is intended behavior? After all if She is Resisting the Frontline Seductions Attempts She Should Resist The Support Too.
Noelle's lust attack is special; it always does the same amount of damage, no matter what. She has no special skill - she's a spoiled, rich girl who's never worked hard for anything, or done anything but shop and flirt - so this is literally all she has going for her ;P
Also, I feel like I should point out that you don't have to seduce the Boss Girls. You can still recruit them via the dungeon if you beat them through physical attacks.

See, I know that, but I still like to seduce them anyway. I am Dark Souls player, and thus just crazy enough to do it too.
I did get a bug though where the fight didn't end when Noelle finished her off, but I was able to end the fight by delivering the final blow myself after a couple of turns.

Bear in mind, she hasn’t made an appearance yet on act 3. Neither has Renee or Laura.
