When you try to download a new update do you have to go into each update and download or something? I have had the game for a while but don't know if it's up to date and wana find out how to update it to the most recent point. Can anyone help?
You have to download each update - from here (either via patches in the app or downloading the entire update) or from Patreon or Subscribestar.
If you're on PC, Mac or Linux and downloading the full update: just download, extract to a fresh folder and play!
If you're on Android and downloading the full update: download and install the APK on top of the old APK and play!
In both cases, saves will be automatically transferred over to the latest version.
If you want to know what version of the game you're on, it's displayed both on the main menu (when you first turn on the game) and in your save game name (just check the "load" screen and look under the image for your latest save).
I had already done so to the end. What I needed to do was visit their mansion on the weekend.
The character cards said I had reached the end of what was in this version of the game, but I still couldnt buy the college - seems the character card tooltip is just a little behind on reflecting the actual content. Super fucking stoked on this game rn, 10/10.
Adding to what DoctorHK says. Yes, you have to get Madison and Veronica to love level 4 and then go to their mansion during a weekend to get Madison to confirm that you can purchase the collage to then finally do the purchase on Jessica's office.
A few folks had issues downloading the apk from itch.io Could be due to your browser. But the more surefire route would be to check the Patreon or Subscribestar page and use the Mega/Workupload links. Posts are public at the same time for the same version that gets released in here.

I believe he's referring to the uniform inspection on the second floor of the college. For some reason the interaction button says "survey" instead of "inspect". I'm assuming this may be due to a translation error if the dev is not a native english speaker.
It's "survey" because more options will be added in time that aren't inspection-specific :) And the OP was asking about a bug they encountered when using AURA during the uniform inspection, but neither Cursed nor myself can duplicate it. Might be a holdover from a now-fixed bug involving using AURA from the Powers menu on the basketball girls.
So my assumption was wrong, not the first time I made that mistake. I haven't run into that bug myself either, maybe I will try to replicate it on my own. If I am able to replicate, I will gladly share the save file if it might help you narrow it down.

During act 2 you unlock the EXPLORE icon in the map. You have one for each map (Outskirts, Town and Mountains) If you explore in the town you might stumble upon a building that's on fire, that is required for Roxy's storyline.
But to explore the building on fire you need something to avoid becoming extra crispy. You get a power from training with the goblin witch, she appears when you explore in the outskirts.
That would be the Goblin Witch. Explore the Outskirts to find her, then once you've learned her name (ie. unlocked her heart card) you can talk to Chloe in her room in the morning :)
ACK, I forgot you update weekly, I've fallen behind again! Be nice to me, Pixie! (I'm on 12.7 so not THAT far behind) Might as well wait a few days to update, since you'll probably update to 12.9 before long.
I'm honestly surprised, given that do you update so much, that there seems to be so little in bugs and oversights! Another dev I follow updates once a month and while the bugs are usually not an issue, there is ALWAYS a series of oversights! I haven't seen that with you, you must do a great job catching bugs and oversights!

The game is great, but i'm stuck. Lyx asked me to use drift at morgana's place, but i dont' know how to activate it outside of a dialouge (I play on phone). It would be nice to have a menu with all the tutorials, in case where player forgets how to do something.
In the current version there's an issue where you can only Drift at Morgana's place if you're past a certain point in the Fey storyline. The 0.12.9 release today (in about five hours) will remove that necessity. Sorry for the inconvenience!
i dont mean to be greedy but is there any way to get better resolution pics for the game? It looks to be 480p which is tolerable but id love to see this game in 1080p. EDIT: i realized its only early game thats LQ. is there any chance itll be updated in the future?

As this is an extremely render-and-animation heavy game, I made the choice at the start of development to render everything out at 720p in order to keep the filesize as small as possible (and even still, it's over a GB already). My next game will use a system that will reduce bloat considerably, so that will likely have QHD or higher quality renders. For now, though, I'm afraid CK will have to stay at 720p.
Gwen's Yandere mode currently has three stages:
1. An incident at the Manor's front door. 2. She starts sending you texts during the day. 3a. Her texts get a little more... intense. 3b. An incident occurs at night which unlocks one of her Quirks.
That's it for now, but a lot more content is planned for her :)

(im currently playing 12.7) so im not sure if this is where i should go to report bugs but i noticed that when exploring the outskirts if i explore a path then q.load to before i explored and choose remember, it'll remember the path i took.
for example what i did was : q.save, explore, North north north, let the event occur, q.load, north west south, let event play, remember
remember will tell me about north north north and north west south when clearly it shouldn't know north north north.
(i also wanted to ask if theres an easy way to update or if redownloading and transferring saves is the only way)

Not a bug, it's just that the explore system recieved a fair bit of complaints, so the "places you remember" carry over all your saves (provided you have the same persistent file). Meaning that if you visit it once, even if you don't save, the game will still remember it.
This may or may not make it into the final version of the game, like the money cheats.
Depends on your platform, if you're on Windows, Mac or Linux, it's recommended you use the itch.io launcher to download and update the game. But even if you don't, your saves should be automatically detected once you run the new version of the game, just don't extract the content of the zip files over the old version of the game, weird stuff may happen.
On Android though... No dice, you have to download the APK each time. And if it doesn't update you may have to backup your saves, uninstall the app and install it fresh so then you can move your saves back in.
The Halloween costumes for Jessica and Gwen can be unlocked by getting the dungeon for the manor and going there at night iirc, and there should be an event that plays and after that event you can replay it and the skins get unlocked. Hopefully this helps!
Adding to this. Jessica and Gwen's event for the costumes only happen if you set up the halloween-themed furniture in your room (buy them if you don't have them) This also applies to Pixie's costume.
Chloe's witch outfit is not halloween related, but requires you to progress with her and Jessica's stories and then go check Chloe's room on a weekend.
Lots of things to love about this game. The story and world is interesting and compelling, and the writing is a good balance between silly and serious. the characters look great and the scenes are hot! Dev updates and interaction is also much appreciated.
One critique though is the passage of time doesn't really matter or do anything yet, different things happen on weekends/weekdays which is great but once you get to act2 you could wait 30 days and nothing would change but your passive income. Random events/crises that can pop up anytime or other things that need upkeep or missions or whatever would be a great way to make the world feel more alive.
Well, the majority of people I've talked to seem relieved that the content isn't time-gated. Yes, narratively speaking it doesn't make sense, in some scenarios you're given a sense of urgency to move on to the next event, but you can just leave and do something else, maybe spend months sleeping to farm income.
Arc will probably expand on this once he does his rounds.
I'm sure it will be improved upon and yeah hard time gates kinda suck, though idk sometimes when it narratively makes sense, maybe a slightly different scene or outcome for taking too long might be good. But I'm more talking about like self-contained random things like oh a storm hurt the farmhouse, pay x to fix it or lose it's bonus, or exam week at the college, better study up. Kinda thing. Nothing too consequential but feels like things are happening as time goes on.
I'm glad you're enjoying the game! And thanks for the kind words :) As to your critique, well there's essentially three ideas in there so I'll cover each one separately:
1. Random events/Crises: That sort of thing is always fun, but there's two issues... the first is simply that as a solo dev I have to be extremely careful with how I allocate my time, and any time spent on random events is time I don't spend on the main story, or people's favourite character(s). The second is that the events would either have to be repeatable (in which case the impact is lessened) or not (in which case I just spent a lot of time and energy on a one-and-done event that, given its random nature, some people may not even see). Still, it's likely something you'll see in Act Three.
2. Things that need upkeep: The college's EDUCATION level is my attempt at testing the waters for upkeep systems. So far the reaction has been mostly along the lines of "Ugh, fine, I GUESS I'll do it..." The general consensus being that people don't want to do rote tasks/homework during their relaxing game-playing time. I can't blame them :P So almost certainly no more systems like that (except for one kinda-like-that system which I have planned for Act Three, but which will hopefully be kinda fun).
3. Time-sensitive missions: Time-gating content is always risky for a dev... and especially in a game like CK which has no real "fail" conditions (ie. you can't actually get a "game over" screen). Most people don't enjoy feeling like they're on a clock (they get enough deadlines at work, and they want to relax with their games - competitive players excepted, of course, but CK isn't a competitive game) and they also don't like feeling like they missed something. A time-sensitive mission with a fail condition doesn't really fit with the feel of CK, which is much more of a "take your time, wander around, explore things!" kind of game.
All that being said, there are random/repeatable events that only occur at certain times of the day, in certain places, and when certain conditions are met (the Hallowe'en costume events are an example of this) and I plan to add more in, especially during the evening, which is rather a dead zone right now.
Hope that covered everything, and thanks for the critique - always nice to be able to explain my thought processes and receive feedback and ideas at the same time :)
really great response, thank you! And yes as a solo dev your time of course should be spent on the story and actually important things. I personally like the education level, as it makes the point that as you expand your powers and influence, you actually have responsibilities if you want to be good and do things right. it's a great way of showing, not just telling the burden of being "good" while still being fairly entertaining. If you want to be the evil sex god-king sure forget the college, the girls are only good for one thing so who cares if they are learning, maybe even add a shatter-esque way to skip the whole upkeep chore entirely for those who don't like it.
I love the world and characters, I enjoy the surprise of seeing special things on different days, and I really like seeing Lyx around town (please, I need more crazy witch-scientist goblin in my life, also I want to see what chaos would ensue were Lyx and Roxy to meet)
But yeah for me, the most boring and annoying part was the day/night cycle interrupting what I was doing, but then not having any other effect or impact besides places being open. It just feels like its the same week on repeat, so some slight change or something that happens monthly/bi-monthly (college exams, club events, harvest season? idk) would give a great feeling of time passing and the world being more alive.
You're absolutely right though, this is more of an after-main-story-development addition than something to be done soon. Keep on doing the wonderful job you are doing! (also donated because of your great response to my winging just so you know :D)
I've been seeing a lot of improvement over the years glad I stuck around to see the development of this wonderful and captivating game keep up the good work.

I also appreciate that the MC expresses his concerns and guilt with the morality of his mind control power. Granted that might not mean much since you can go and have sex with the mind controlled girls right after he mentions feeling guilty about it, but it still makes it feel less bad and (I assume) sets up the possibility for it to not be creepy based on decisions in future versions.
Some of the secrets are hints of things to come, but some will open up unique locations and events. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the weekly changelogs! :)
No the Game itself doesnt update automatically. You've to download the newest apk and launch it. After that it asks you if you want to update the game.
You can use the Itch.io app to download patch files rather than the full game each time (although some people have reported issues, so your mileage may vary!)
Your save files are automatically transferred between each update by the game itself, whether you patch or download the full update :)

That's not really something that Ren'py supports, sorry - I'd need to manually code the whole thing and as a solo dev I have to be extremely careful with taking on any extra work.
i have to say this is by far my favourite game. the girls are all amazing and i truly care about them (i even think morgana could have some redemption eventually). the H-scenes are very nice too, even being given the option to skip most if not all is a great touch. even the creator is happy to help and reply to a lot of comments and is happy to hear critisisms or suggestions. thank you Arcadean for making an amazing game! (also loving the college so much)

As for side girls, they won't get cards (because that involves giving them love levels and that is a LOT of work and would delay completion of the game by a couple of years :P ) but many/most of them will get more content and will be able to get pregnant and give birth.

Spoiler! For the nexus key you just have to write: "Think backwards" :) apart from the other stuff, it should be stated in the questlog (Fey, Eldritch, Org), otherwise try to look through the character chards where you might find a hint.

Thanks so much for this already amazing game which covers and includes a lot of things I always want(ed) in games: lewd ero, wide array of fetishes, broad choice of waifus, engaging story, "isekai"/fantasy, monster girls, corruption/mind break/control, pregnancy/children, "kingdom building" kind of. so much loveable charakters, especially Pixie (and Kana ofc) grew on me. Also the goblin scie...witch is so hilarious :D

About the UI, I guess a "quick" accessible bar for (quick) saving/loading, maybe showing/hiding the UI, skipping text stuff. Stuff which is kinda "standard" in casual Visual Novels, I'd say. Dunno if it will conflict in any way with the menu thats already in place (the one in the topright corner), or if its integrateable in this one?
At least thats some "easy to see"-stuff which comes to my mind at the moment :)
This may be a dumb question, but with character cards, are the shown (traits) all unlockable? Is there also a guide to getting those? I noticed I unlocked certain ones like Jessica’s through the story, so I was wondering if I missed something on the others.
Some of them aren't unlockable just yet. They're mostly used for in-game "content gating" - that is, unlocking or hiding content based on the user's choices. If the Quirk unlocks content you're interested in then you should get it by making choices that appeal to you naturally.
There's also a user-run Wikia (icon on the main screen of the game, up in the top-left) which I think has a list of all the currently implemented Quirks and how to get them :)
Couldn't find the Quirk/Traits list for the girls. I may just be blind but if you know where it is on the wiki that would help me out, really interested in finding out what they mean and what steps to take to get them, or if you could get rid of them by doing certain actions. I'm like 90% sure I got Gwen's damaged trait by ignoring her after she sent a bunch of texts lol. Glad to know there is a wiki for the game though, might add some stuff to it later.

Qarinah > Dreamgirl -- "Dreamgirl" = Get Qarinah to level 4 love, then have the dream where the Beast comes for you

The same thing happens to me, when 0.12.6 came out I downloaded it, when I tried to enter the game nothing weird happened, not a black screen or anything else, everything normal, then I tried to load a saved game and it did not work, after a few seconds the game closed by itself and no text appeared, I tried to uninstall and install the game but it didn't work, at least I have my save files that I did in old versions

Another dev I follow updates once a month and while the bugs are usually not an issue, there is ALWAYS a series of oversights! I haven't seen that with you, you must do a great job catching bugs and oversights!

The game is great, but i'm stuck. Lyx asked me to use drift at morgana's place, but i dont' know how to activate it outside of a dialouge (I play on phone). It would be nice to have a menu with all the tutorials, in case where player forgets how to do something.
In the current version there's an issue where you can only Drift at Morgana's place if you're past a certain point in the Fey storyline. The 0.12.9 release today (in about five hours) will remove that necessity. Sorry for the inconvenience!
i dont mean to be greedy but is there any way to get better resolution pics for the game? It looks to be 480p which is tolerable but id love to see this game in 1080p.

As this is an extremely render-and-animation heavy game, I made the choice at the start of development to render everything out at 720p in order to keep the filesize as small as possible (and even still, it's over a GB already). My next game will use a system that will reduce bloat considerably, so that will likely have QHD or higher quality renders. For now, though, I'm afraid CK will have to stay at 720p.
Gwen's Yandere mode currently has three stages:
1. An incident at the Manor's front door.
2. She starts sending you texts during the day.
3a. Her texts get a little more... intense.
3b. An incident occurs at night which unlocks one of her Quirks.
That's it for now, but a lot more content is planned for her :)
Ahh understandable. I figured that was probably the reason I was just confused because some scenes looked 'fuzzy' while others seemed to be HD. Nonetheless, thanks for this enjoyable game! I think I'm nearing the end of the current content and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

(im currently playing 12.7) so im not sure if this is where i should go to report bugs but i noticed that when exploring the outskirts if i explore a path then q.load to before i explored and choose remember, it'll remember the path i took.
for example what i did was : q.save, explore, North north north, let the event occur, q.load, north west south, let event play, remember
remember will tell me about north north north and north west south when clearly it shouldn't know north north north.
(i also wanted to ask if theres an easy way to update or if redownloading and transferring saves is the only way)

Not a bug, it's just that the explore system recieved a fair bit of complaints, so the "places you remember" carry over all your saves (provided you have the same persistent file).
Meaning that if you visit it once, even if you don't save, the game will still remember it.
This may or may not make it into the final version of the game, like the money cheats.
Depends on your platform, if you're on Windows, Mac or Linux, it's recommended you use the itch.io launcher to download and update the game. But even if you don't, your saves should be automatically detected once you run the new version of the game, just don't extract the content of the zip files over the old version of the game, weird stuff may happen.
On Android though... No dice, you have to download the APK each time. And if it doesn't update you may have to backup your saves, uninstall the app and install it fresh so then you can move your saves back in.
so i noticed there is some holloween costumes, how do i get them?
The Halloween costumes for Jessica and Gwen can be unlocked by getting the dungeon for the manor and going there at night iirc, and there should be an event that plays and after that event you can replay it and the skins get unlocked. Hopefully this helps!

Jessica and Gwen's event for the costumes only happen if you set up the halloween-themed furniture in your room (buy them if you don't have them)
This also applies to Pixie's costume.
Chloe's witch outfit is not halloween related, but requires you to progress with her and Jessica's stories and then go check Chloe's room on a weekend.
Lots of things to love about this game. The story and world is interesting and compelling, and the writing is a good balance between silly and serious. the characters look great and the scenes are hot! Dev updates and interaction is also much appreciated.
One critique though is the passage of time doesn't really matter or do anything yet, different things happen on weekends/weekdays which is great but once you get to act2 you could wait 30 days and nothing would change but your passive income. Random events/crises that can pop up anytime or other things that need upkeep or missions or whatever would be a great way to make the world feel more alive.
Well, the majority of people I've talked to seem relieved that the content isn't time-gated.
Yes, narratively speaking it doesn't make sense, in some scenarios you're given a sense of urgency to move on to the next event, but you can just leave and do something else, maybe spend months sleeping to farm income.
Arc will probably expand on this once he does his rounds.
I'm sure it will be improved upon and yeah hard time gates kinda suck, though idk sometimes when it narratively makes sense, maybe a slightly different scene or outcome for taking too long might be good. But I'm more talking about like self-contained random things like oh a storm hurt the farmhouse, pay x to fix it or lose it's bonus, or exam week at the college, better study up. Kinda thing. Nothing too consequential but feels like things are happening as time goes on.
I'm glad you're enjoying the game! And thanks for the kind words :) As to your critique, well there's essentially three ideas in there so I'll cover each one separately:
1. Random events/Crises: That sort of thing is always fun, but there's two issues... the first is simply that as a solo dev I have to be extremely careful with how I allocate my time, and any time spent on random events is time I don't spend on the main story, or people's favourite character(s). The second is that the events would either have to be repeatable (in which case the impact is lessened) or not (in which case I just spent a lot of time and energy on a one-and-done event that, given its random nature, some people may not even see). Still, it's likely something you'll see in Act Three.
2. Things that need upkeep: The college's EDUCATION level is my attempt at testing the waters for upkeep systems. So far the reaction has been mostly along the lines of "Ugh, fine, I GUESS I'll do it..." The general consensus being that people don't want to do rote tasks/homework during their relaxing game-playing time. I can't blame them :P So almost certainly no more systems like that (except for one kinda-like-that system which I have planned for Act Three, but which will hopefully be kinda fun).
3. Time-sensitive missions: Time-gating content is always risky for a dev... and especially in a game like CK which has no real "fail" conditions (ie. you can't actually get a "game over" screen). Most people don't enjoy feeling like they're on a clock (they get enough deadlines at work, and they want to relax with their games - competitive players excepted, of course, but CK isn't a competitive game) and they also don't like feeling like they missed something. A time-sensitive mission with a fail condition doesn't really fit with the feel of CK, which is much more of a "take your time, wander around, explore things!" kind of game.
All that being said, there are random/repeatable events that only occur at certain times of the day, in certain places, and when certain conditions are met (the Hallowe'en costume events are an example of this) and I plan to add more in, especially during the evening, which is rather a dead zone right now.

really great response, thank you! And yes as a solo dev your time of course should be spent on the story and actually important things. I personally like the education level, as it makes the point that as you expand your powers and influence, you actually have responsibilities if you want to be good and do things right. it's a great way of showing, not just telling the burden of being "good" while still being fairly entertaining. If you want to be the evil sex god-king sure forget the college, the girls are only good for one thing so who cares if they are learning, maybe even add a shatter-esque way to skip the whole upkeep chore entirely for those who don't like it.
I love the world and characters, I enjoy the surprise of seeing special things on different days, and I really like seeing Lyx around town (please, I need more crazy witch-scientist goblin in my life, also I want to see what chaos would ensue were Lyx and Roxy to meet)
But yeah for me, the most boring and annoying part was the day/night cycle interrupting what I was doing, but then not having any other effect or impact besides places being open. It just feels like its the same week on repeat, so some slight change or something that happens monthly/bi-monthly (college exams, club events, harvest season? idk) would give a great feeling of time passing and the world being more alive.
You're absolutely right though, this is more of an after-main-story-development addition than something to be done soon. Keep on doing the wonderful job you are doing! (also donated because of your great response to my winging just so you know :D)
I've been seeing a lot of improvement over the years glad I stuck around to see the development of this wonderful and captivating game keep up the good work.

I also appreciate that the MC expresses his concerns and guilt with the morality of his mind control power. Granted that might not mean much since you can go and have sex with the mind controlled girls right after he mentions feeling guilty about it, but it still makes it feel less bad and (I assume) sets up the possibility for it to not be creepy based on decisions in future versions.

No the Game itself doesnt update automatically. You've to download the newest apk and launch it. After that it asks you if you want to update the game.
And no it does not affect your progress.
You can use the Itch.io app to download patch files rather than the full game each time (although some people have reported issues, so your mileage may vary!)
Your save files are automatically transferred between each update by the game itself, whether you patch or download the full update :)

Love the game, laptop got trashed last month, gonna play over from the beginning. NOT going to replay Champion of Realms, please dont murder any kids. Loved CoR also, then that sumbitch made half his subs go apeshit, me included. Make sure to change your name in the laptop in your Manor bedroom after moving the save file across!
For when your character has a baby and you have to name them, could you add a auto name generator?
That's not really something that Ren'py supports, sorry - I'd need to manually code the whole thing and as a solo dev I have to be extremely careful with taking on any extra work.
It could be done by just chucking a bunch of names into an array and then just rolling dice to pick one of them.
But why should a dev bother doing that when the player can just go on a website that generates random names and get the same results.
i have to say this is by far my favourite game. the girls are all amazing and i truly care about them (i even think morgana could have some redemption eventually). the H-scenes are very nice too, even being given the option to skip most if not all is a great touch. even the creator is happy to help and reply to a lot of comments and is happy to hear critisisms or suggestions. thank you Arcadean for making an amazing game! (also loving the college so much)

As for side girls, they won't get cards (because that involves giving them love levels and that is a LOT of work and would delay completion of the game by a couple of years :P ) but many/most of them will get more content and will be able to get pregnant and give birth.

apart from the other stuff, it should be stated in the questlog (Fey, Eldritch, Org), otherwise try to look through the character chards where you might find a hint.
Just in case of any future confusion, when you check your leads for Nexus keys, the word(s) written in orange is what you need to type :)

About the UI, I guess a "quick" accessible bar for (quick) saving/loading, maybe showing/hiding the UI, skipping text stuff.
Stuff which is kinda "standard" in casual Visual Novels, I'd say.
Dunno if it will conflict in any way with the menu thats already in place (the one in the topright corner), or if its integrateable in this one?
At least thats some "easy to see"-stuff which comes to my mind at the moment :)

This may be a dumb question, but with character cards, are the shown (traits) all unlockable? Is there also a guide to getting those? I noticed I unlocked certain ones like Jessica’s through the story, so I was wondering if I missed something on the others.
Some of them aren't unlockable just yet. They're mostly used for in-game "content gating" - that is, unlocking or hiding content based on the user's choices. If the Quirk unlocks content you're interested in then you should get it by making choices that appeal to you naturally.
There's also a user-run Wikia (icon on the main screen of the game, up in the top-left) which I think has a list of all the currently implemented Quirks and how to get them :)
Couldn't find the Quirk/Traits list for the girls. I may just be blind but if you know where it is on the wiki that would help me out, really interested in finding out what they mean and what steps to take to get them, or if you could get rid of them by doing certain actions. I'm like 90% sure I got Gwen's damaged trait by ignoring her after she sent a bunch of texts lol. Glad to know there is a wiki for the game though, might add some stuff to it later.
I just looked and I can't find it either, actually :P Something to add to my to-do list!

When I open the game with the 0.12.6 version It crashes, but the 0.12.3 works fine.
It could be a corrupted download? What is the error message you're getting?
It doesn't show an error message, it just closes
The same thing happens to me, when 0.12.6 came out I downloaded it, when I tried to enter the game nothing weird happened, not a black screen or anything else, everything normal, then I tried to load a saved game and it did not work, after a few seconds the game closed by itself and no text appeared, I tried to uninstall and install the game but it didn't work, at least I have my save files that I did in old versions
