So, let's talk about Ophelia...
Ophelia, in the current version (v0.19.9) of the game, is supposed to be an unwinnable fight for most players. v0.20.0 will contain new ways to upgrade your dice, gain new bonuses and buffs, and in various ways simplify the fight, but v0.19.9 doesn't have any of that... so what's going on?
Well, from now until the release of v0.20.0 I have set up two new channels over on the Discord server:
- The Hall of Fame! Defeat Ophelia in any way - attack, seduce or shatter her!
- The Hall of Heroes: Defeat Ophelia using SHATTER!
If you manage to achieve either of these two feats of legendary heroism, take a screenshot and post it in the relevant channel on the server to be immortalized forever as one who faced down impossible odds, stared into the abyss... and made it blink!
This is only valid until the release of v0.20.0 on September 18th, at which point the channels will become read-only, and your exploits will be etched forever in the annals of CK history!
Or you can just wait for 0.20.0... which is what a normal person would do ;)
NOTE: Some people were getting confused, so just for clarity, THIS IS ONLY FOR v0.19.9! ANY EARLIER VERSIONS OF THE GAME DO NOT COUNT!

I'm back here too late huh.. I'll give it a go nonetheless..
Beating her is relatively easy, took a couple tries but you can beat her in 2 turns if you manage to crit both of them. Not too uncommon to crit since she is agressive and doesn't defend a lot. I still haven't managed to shatter her though. Not sure what the odds on that would be, fastest you could do it would be 5 turns I believe. That is if you have good enough roles to defend and attack while she has repeated roles that are bad enough that they wont do crit or even damage you. Due to have 3 six sided die and being aggressive she will usually attack with a die too high to defend against and will win in 4 turns if she doesn't crit and beat you sooner.

I DON'T HAVE THE SHATTER OPTION YET, BUT, MAN, THIS WAS SO HARD. I MANAGED TO DO IT, AND TOOK LIKE 400 SCREENSHOTS, I WAS SO PROUD. I didn't even do the tutorial since, well, I'm not smart, I'm a brute, I literally just go ''pew pew pew'' with dices and try to win somehow. Pure luck.
It is unlocked from the start.
But since it’s a finisher move, you need to meet the conditions to use it.
Conditions being:
Both those met, the shatter will unlock as an special attack.

As Chris says, Shatter is available to everyone from the start, but it's a finisher move (which is why it gets you in the Hall of Heroes). Make sure to upload your screenshots to the #hall-of-fame channel on the CK Discord if you haven't already!

Man, it only took me like three hundred tries, BUT I MANAGED, AHA.

Man, I don’t mind shattering girls with bland personalities, but this one had a way of talking that makes me feel things. I literally just woke up, man, it’s 12 PM, I’m so sleepy.
Shatter equality.
I was able to defeat her in both ways - attack and seduce, but it looks like shatter will be impossible for me. In two of my attempts I was very close shattering her, but then RNGsus said "F* you" and Ophelia started getting incredibly high dices and shit like 6-5-4, while everything I got was some ducking 2-1-1. And of course, she destroyed me. I'll try to join discord server and carve my nickname in the an(n)als of CK as the destroyer of Ophelia the AssKicker
It may take you several hundred times to shatter her but it IS possible. Keep it up.
Keep trying most runs youll get your ass handed to you all it takes is one good run never give up on any runs the one i shattered her on i was on one hit left for over 5 turns and somehow beat her.
I haven’t played for a few updates now. This might be the perfect time to return. I’ll take this challenge.

And thats why i Have a Save Just before the final battle worst case scenario i will yeet the children into another dimension to save them,can't trust arc after all.

Hello everyone, I would like to know how to solve an error that I have when entering the game, I wait 10s to 15s for it to boot and when I press play it automatically exits, I would like to know why that is and if there is a solution.
It could be anything from a corrupted download to not enough storage space to the possibility that you're using an Android device that is too obscure for Ren'py to recognize and interact with properly.
Have you tried downloading and playing other Ren'py games? Do they also have the crashing issue, or is it just CK?

are other areas available in the battle map yet? .19.9 would not take my old save files so I just want to make sure I dont play over again until there is some new content (besides new combat system)
If the last time you played was 0.19.8 then there's some new content, but mostly it's been focused on refurbishing the combat system. 0.20.0 will introduce more story events and from 0.20.1 onwards everything will be entirely focused on story and naughty events, just like Act Two was.
Honestly, I liked the old combat more, it was more based on skill than luck
The problem of the old system was that it clashed too much with the rest of the game.
You were playing a VN and then SUDDENLY PIXEL JRPG.
But something was needed for act 3. As it currently stands it is a bit unfair and too dependant on the mercy of RNGsus, but next update will add boosts and stuff.
Point is, that the new system doesn’t overstay its welcome and end up disconnecting with the rest of the game.
A simpler combat system will eventually lead for more story events. Which I’d dare to say is the main reason why most of us are here.
For what battle Stands for, it was mainly lucky for me to defeat Ophelia, so took some tries but is possible everybody:)

Oh... that wasn't as bad as I had expected. When the Dread Arc called a fight unwinnable, I thought I'd need to be the Typo Hero himself to stand a chance. o_O
Her dice are smaller than I expected, and her power is much too reasonable to be labelled unwinnable. Arc! Buff her! >:D Make us cry!
As you can tell from the downvote someone gave you, I think if I made her any harder there would be riots ;)

i’ve come back to the game from being held up by quite a few things on my end! can’t wait to experience this backlog of spicy stuff i can gleam from the thumbnails!
I hope you enjoy! Unfortunately a good chunk of the last few months has had to be stripped out and reworked, so there's not as much content as I would like. But starting from 0.20.0 it's going to be story, story, story!

The Hall of Heroes is the far more difficult one :) Only sixteen people have made it in so far!
(Which is actually still more than I expected...)

Fun little battle system, Arc. Though I didn't Shatter Ophelia, I did beat her with my fists alone. I look forward to future builds where it's not entirely luck (and making sure to ENDURE) that gets me through the fight. I want those bigger dice!

There will be many more buffs and ways to upgrade your dice coming in v0.20.0 for people who are struggling. That being said, it's not entirely luck right now - there's strategies even for Shattering Ophelia (although that one does require a very hefty dose of luck). The girls' personalities allow you to predict where they'll put their dice, and both Meals and Tactics help push luck more in your favour.
Hit the skip button too fast and skipped past my first seduction victory... time to redo it. Already got attack done. Seduction redone. Shatter done. Full clear.

When you say "Defeat her using SHATTER!", so you mean only using shatter, or finishing off with shatter? My guess would be the first, but just in case
You can't defeat the boss girls with only shatter. You need to weaken them first.
What Shay-y said :) Shatter is a finisher - you can't use it unless you get the girl's HP and WP down to their lowest point.
Ah, that would make sense. I've been holding from downloading more updates until the combat system was finished, but I was wondering if trying the challenge could be fun. Maybe I should refrain from taking it too seriously tho, since I lack prior experience
Everyone's in the same boat, experience-wise, when it comes to this challenge - the new combat system is completely different to the old one :)
Also, the system as it stands is finished. I will be adding more skills, powers, buffs, upgrades, etc. as time goes on but that will be constant throughout the rest of development and won't affect the core mechanics or systems at all - merely make them easier or provide more variation.
